How this build is configured
The 12.5-foot composite habitat was finished in a metallic blue paint match and equipped with multiple Foundation dual-pane acrylic windows, integrated side-access hatches, and a complete aluminum storage package.
Keeping OEM functions after replacing the factory body
A cutaway-based camper body creates a challenge that is easy to overlook: systems originally designed around the rear of the production vehicle still need to function after the new body is installed.
On this Transit, Foundation incorporated the factory parking sensors and backup camera into the completed body.
That type of chassis integration is part of treating the camper as a complete vehicle platform rather than simply placing an insulated box behind the cab.
Integrated exterior storage
The full aluminum storage-box package takes advantage of space below the camper floor while keeping equipment outside the living environment.
Side-access hatches provide additional access through the body where appropriate.
Combined with the dual-pane acrylic windows, the result is a body with substantial exterior integration without sacrificing the clean rectangular interior that makes the Foundation platform easy to upfit.
Why the Transit 156?
The 156-inch Transit sits between Foundation’s compact 138 and long 178 platforms.
It provides approximately 82 square feet of walkable interior floor where the current Foundation specification confirms that figure.
For customers who want meaningful living space without committing to the length of the largest van-based platform, it is a balanced configuration.
