Foundation Vehicles designs, manufactures, and installs insulated composite camper, expedition, commercial, and specialty vehicle bodies — the structural body and platform that a chassis is built into. We are a final-stage manufacturer; we build the body, mount it to the chassis, and hand off a road-legal platform you or your builder finishes.
What we build
The body is the product; the chassis is the platform
Foundation Vehicles is not a van-conversion shop, an interior campervan builder, a dealership, or a generic RV retailer. We manufacture the structural vehicle body — an insulated composite shell — and install it on the chassis you choose, from a Ford Transit or Mercedes-Benz Sprinter cutaway to a 4x4 Ford E-Series or a medium- and heavy-duty truck.
That body is engineered to be the same square, sealed, build-ready starting point whatever the mission. From there it can be finished as a four-season adventure camper, an expedition rig, a mobile clinic or workspace, or a production body for a professional builder. We supply the platform; the interior and the brand are yours or your builder’s.

Why it’s different
Not a cargo van, and not a wood-framed box
A conventional cargo van curves in at the roof and walls, is uninsulated, and has to be furred out before anything goes in. A wood-framed box body rots, absorbs water, and telegraphs cold through its frame. A Foundation body is engineered to avoid both.
- A one-piece composite structural insulated panel — fire-retardant, with no wood to rot, mold, or absorb water
- Continuous R11 insulation with no thermal-bridging framework cutting through the wall
- Flat, true 90° walls with integrated mounting, so the interior goes in against a square, solid surface
- Installed on a torsion-reducing subframe that isolates the body from the chassis flexing over rough ground
- Manufactured to FMVSS and OEM requirements as a final-stage manufacturer, so what leaves the shop is road-legal and titled
How we build
Designed, built, and installed in-house
Everything happens under one roof at our shop in Golden, on the Colorado Front Range: design and engineering, panel cutting and preparation, body assembly, chassis integration, and final-stage installation onto the chassis. Designs are modeled and stress-tested before they are built, then proven against real-world miles and terrain in the conditions the Front Range provides.
We think like a platform manufacturer rather than a one-off custom shop — repeatable processes, integrated mounting and tolerances, and corrosion protection on the structure you never see — so each body comes out consistent and built to last.
