How this build is configured

The vehicle uses the single-rear-wheel Transit chassis, so no super-single conversion is required. Behind the cab is Foundation’s 12.5-foot composite body, configured with large dual-pane acrylic windows, an opening entry door, full underbody storage, and a rear wall that becomes both a loading ramp and an outdoor deck.

The result is a compact AWD platform designed around motorcycles, snowmobiles, ATVs, and other gear without turning the vehicle into a conventional enclosed toy hauler.

A rear wall that changes the use of the vehicle

RampDeck is designed to solve two very different needs with one structural opening.

In ramp mode, the rear of the camper becomes a 3,000-pound-capacity loading surface for motorcycles, ATVs, snowmobiles, and other equipment.

Once camp is set up, the same assembly can be positioned horizontally to become a 1,750-pound-capacity rear deck.

That means a motorcycle-focused build doesn’t have to sacrifice the rear of the vehicle to a single-purpose garage door. The opening can become usable outdoor space when the equipment is unloaded.

Why the Zero-G mechanism matters

A rear assembly capable of supporting several thousand pounds needs mechanical assistance to remain practical for everyday use.

RampDeck uses an internal spring-assist system that counterbalances the assembly. The system is designed so the door can be raised or lowered with minimal effort.

The opening and closing behavior can be adjusted to control how quickly the system moves.

Why the Transit 156 works well here

The Transit 156 occupies a useful middle ground in Foundation’s van-platform lineup.

It provides more usable habitat than the compact Transit without requiring the overall length of the largest 178-inch-wheelbase platform.

AWD also makes it well suited to winter travel, dirt roads, and trailhead access.

For a build where vehicle size, gear carrying, and outdoor living space all matter, the Transit 156 and RampDeck are a particularly natural combination.
