This Foundation demo puts a composite expedition cabover on a 2023 Chevrolet 6500 4x4 medium-duty chassis — the step up from a van when you want serious payload, clearance, and range. It carries a California-king cabover that seats six, on a four-point Zero-Torsion subframe, with LiquidSpring smart suspension and super-single wheels.

The build
Why this platform, and what it shows
A medium-duty chassis is the answer when a van or cutaway runs out of payload, clearance, or range. The Chevrolet 6500 4x4 brings a much higher weight ceiling, room for big fuel and water, super-single wheels, and the frame strength to carry a full expedition habitat off-road for years.
The body steps up to Foundation’s thicker 2.5-inch composite panel on a four-point Zero-Torsion subframe — sized and mounted to manage the loads and torsion of a long, heavy cabover over a flexing medium-duty frame, so the chassis articulates while the habitat stays square. The California-king cabover sleeps the family and the cab passthrough ties it all together.
LiquidSpring smart suspension and super-single wheels round out a rig built for real, sustained expedition use rather than pavement.
